Happiness

h“Happiness is not something ready-made. It comes from your own actions.“- Dalai Lama

This morning, when I left from PG I was thinking about a topic to write that starts with letter ‘H’ since its 8th day of #AToZChallenge. I am so much in love with this challenge that I could not even focus on my work because I was in search of a topic. I went to a tea stall opposite to my office asking him to give me chikki and my favourite mouth freshener that I always eat ‘Pass-Pass’.

“This girl is always happy,” said the old man, the owner of the stall.

His compliment not only brought a huge smile on my face but he helped me by giving a topic to write about. H for  Happiness.

Is it too difficult to be always happy? Not really. It’s not that I don’t have problems in my life, or I am very lucky that God has made me a happy person or nothing bad has ever happened to me. Absolutely not. I agree, I am very lucky, God has been really kind to me but being happy was my choice. I have decided no matter what happens, I won’t let myself be affected with it. I decided to be happy, because you are at peace when you are happy. I decided to enjoy life as it comes. There were bad times too, but those bad times gave me an experience. So I am happy that I learnt something.

We all are so focused to be happy in future, that we sacrifice our happiness of present time. And this cycle continues till our last breath. I have seen my dad sacrificing our happiness to secure his and our future, I have seen my friends sacrificing their present happiness to be happy in future, I have seen many people like them. Trust me, thinking about being happy in future by sacrificing your present happiness is of no use. Do you know exactly, how many years are you going to live? God forbid but what if you never get a chance to see yourself being happy in future? Life is too unpredictable, anything can happen anytime. It’s like a cricket game. The moment you are confident that a team is going to win, the game changes and the opposite team wins. So that’s why Enjoy the moment. True happiness is when you start living the moment without being concerned about tomorrow.

Being happy does no harm to you. It only makes you more positive, more charming and more lovable. Do what you love to, be kind to people, eat whatever you want, follow your passion, smile to everyone you pass by, feed poor people, go out, watch movies, spend money, do shopping-Little action bring more happiness. Be happy and make others happy. The main thing to do to be happy is to be grateful. Be thankful for what you have, others might not have what you have in your life.

Be happy because it makes you look beautiful,

Be happy because it is good for health,

Be happy because it attracts positive things,

Be happy as it inspire others to be like you,

Happiness is a choice,

It is a state of mind,

Nothing can make you happy, unless you decide to be.
